Summerfest: Four Things To Know Before You Go

Nothing says summer quite like Summerfest. The world’s largest music festival kicks off in less than a week on June 29 and runs through July 10. You’ve scoped the headliners and you have your tickets, so what else do you need to know? Here are our top tips to make 2016 your best Summerfest yet:

1) Download the Summerfest app.

Summerfest’s app is a complete festival guide and gives you access to the schedule and maps, regardless of internet connectivity.  This year, the app features a ‘music recommender’ based on your Facebook favorites and other artists saved in your lineup. You can also receive push notifications when your favorite band takes the stage. The app is free and available in the App Store or Play Store.

2) Reserve parking in advance.

Believe it or not, getting to and from Summerfest doesn’t have to be a headache. Using the SpotHero app or website, you can find and pay for Summerfest parking near the festival grounds. No need to pay in cash or waste time sitting in traffic searching for a spot.

If this is your first time using SpotHero, use promo code “SUMMERFEST16” for $5 off your first reservation.

3) Go early to enjoy the festival grounds.

Headliners may get all the glory, but don’t forget there’s more to explore on the Summerfest grounds. Get there early to give yourself time to stroll around, grab a bite to eat, and maybe discover a new band along the way.

4) Explore new festival food fare.

Just like the music itself, Summerfest’s food lineup offers something for everyone. Saz’s has been a staple for years, but newcomers like Lakeside Supper Club and Chubby’s Cheesesteaks are sure to become fan favorites with mac n’ cheese burgers, loaded tater tots, and fried Oreos on the menu.

Now enjoy the show!
