Art Institute of Chicago Parking

Parking can be in high demand near the Art Institute of Chicago. Let SpotHero help you find the best spot for your needs and have peace of mind! Here’s everything you need to know about finding parking near this beloved Chicago landmark.

Street Parking Options

Street parking in the area is limited and in high demand. If you are able to find a street spot in the nearby Loop, pay very close attention to any posted signs and restrictions to avoid being ticketed or towed. Also, keep in mind that the vast majority of street parking in downtown Chicago is metered, so you should expect to pay a fee!

Parking Garages Near the Art Museum

As the Art Institute does not have on-site parking facilities, you should expect to park nearby and walk. There are several large garages very close to the Art Institute. They are located in the Loop and on the edge of Millennium Park and Grant Park. Rates in the area can vary depending on the time of day as well as on demand, but typically facilities closer to the Art Institute are more expensive. There are also garages on the lower levels of downtown Chicago. While these spots are typically less expensive, we would not recommend parking on the lower levels of downtown Chicago unless you are already familiar with the area; GPS signal can be limited and spots may be difficult to find!
