Where To Park In Chicago During 4th of July Weekend

The Fourth of July fireworks at Navy Pier are a summer tradition not to be missed for visitors and Chicagoans alike. The big show kicks off at 9:30pm on Tuesday, July 4th. Whether you’re spending the entire weekend in the city or making a special trip on Tuesday night, traffic and crowds won’t be as much of a hassle when you reserve parking in advance. Here are some of our best deals in Chicago this weekend.

 

Parking near Navy Pier Fireworks:

 

Navy Pier is one of Chicago’s most popular destinations, but parking can be affordable and convenient, even on major holidays. Some of our best deals for the evening on July 4th include:

 

Location: Aon Center Garage 

Cost: $10 (6pm – 6am the following morning)

Spot details: The location on Lower Wacker Drive makes it easier to avoid traffic and crowds. The walk to Navy Pier is a little over a mile. The entrance to this facility is on the lower level of Lake Street. GPS is unreliable in the lower (underground) levels of Chicago, so please refer to the directions in your SpotHero reservation.

 

Location: 414 E Grand Ave. (545 N McClurg Ct.) Garage

Cost: $15  (4:30 p.m. – 1:30 a.m.)

Spot details: This location is less than a mile from Navy Pier and across the street from Ohio Street Beach, another popular location to view the fireworks.

 

4th of July Fireworks Parking – Away from the Crowds:

 

Park in the River North neighborhood and take advantage of the free Navy Pier trolley, which makes designated stops along a convenient route to and from Navy Pier.

 

Location: Grand Plaza (29 W Ohio St.) 

Cost: $20 (6pm – 7am the following morning)

Spot details: This spot is located on the same block as the trolley stop at the CTA Grand Station. If you wanted to walk instead, it is a little over a mile to Navy Pier.

 

Location: North Bridge (10 E. Grand Ave.) 

Cost: $18 (6pm – 6am the following morning)

Spot details: This spot is around the corner from the trolley stop at CTA Grand Station and is approximately a mile from Navy Pier.

Spot details: This spot is in Chicago’s popular River North neighborhood and is within walking distance of restaurants, shopping, hotels, and the L train.

 

Lincoln Park

Location: 1730 N Stockton Dr. 

Cost: $28 for any 24 hours – select your date and time

Spot details: This spot is located at the Chicago History Museum and is a short walk to the (free) Lincoln Park Zoo, as well as Lincoln Park’s top restaurants.
