Where to Park in NYC For Macy’s 4th of July Fireworks

This year, Macy’s 4th of July fireworks celebrates its 40th anniversary! Just like last year, fireworks will launch from barges along the East River beginning at 9:30pm on Monday, July 4th. Official viewing areas are located along FDR Drive and South Street Seaport.

If you’re going to drive, don’t wait until Monday night to find parking. Reserve your spot in advance and plan to get there early. Here are some parking locations close to the access points:


Public Viewing Areas

Please note that as crowds build, some of these access points may be closed. Attendees will be redirected to other open access points along FDR.


As you make plans for the evening, be aware that the following locations are not recommended as viewing areas:

  • Battery Park
  • Battery Park City
  • Roosevelt Island
  • Hunter’s Point South Waterfront Park.
