Why White Plains?
The city is a 35-minute train ride from Grand Central, making it enticing for commuters. White Plains is building apartment and condo buildings which will be close to the train station and offer less expensive rental rates.
Listings for a one-bedroom apartment in one of White Plain’s new apartment buildings starts at $2,227. The median price for a one-bedroom in Brooklyn this past November was $2,807, according to a report from residential real estate brokerage firm Douglas Elliman.
White Plains also has a vibrant downtown. It’s a destination for commuters and nearby residents to eat and shop. The new residents and those who go to White Plains on nights and weekends will change the way people find and pay for parking.
