Overview

The Westminster Kennel Club Dog Show is the second-longest continuously held sporting event in the United States and the longest nationally televised live dog show. Visitors to the show can see hundreds of dogs compete in various competitions during their Canine Celebration on Saturday. These events include the 12th Annual Masters Agility competition, the 10th Annual Masters Obedience competition, a new Flyball Tournament at Westminster, as well as other family-focused activities. On Monday and Tuesday, visitors can watch all the action as 2,500 dogs in over 200 breed competitions and seven group competitions all strut their stuff for the ultimate title of Best in Show. 

The Westminster Kennel Club Dog Show returns for its 149th year on February 8, 2025 at the Javits Center, and February 10-11 at the Javits Center & Madison Square Garden. Doors open at 7 a.m. daily.

Event Pricing, Tips, and On-Site Policies

Tickets for events at the Javits Center start at $35 for adults, and tickets for events at Madison Square Garden start at $62.95 for adults. Separate tickets are required to attend events at both venues. Learn more and purchase tickets here

Madison Square Garden is a cashless venue. They accept all major credit and debit cards, as well as cashless payments via mobile devices.

Outside food and beverages are not permitted inside Madison Square Garden. Clear, soft-plastic, empty bottles are allowed, and accessible water fountains are located throughout the venue. Bags of all types are allowed in Madison Square Garden but are discouraged. All bags must fit comfortably under the seat and be under 22” x 14” x 9”, roughly the size of a small airplane carry-on.

Public Transit to the Westminster Dog Show

Madison Square Garden is easily accessible by public transit. Located directly above Penn Station, visitors to Madison Square Garden can take the 1, 2, 3, A, C, and E trains to the “34th Street/Penn Station” stop. It is also easily accessible via Amtrak, Long Island Railroad, and NJ Transit “Penn Station” stops. 

For those traveling by bus, you can take MTA Buses M4, M10, M16, M34, and Q32 and get off at 7th Avenue/Penn Station.
