Where to Park in Boston this Holiday Season

Believe it or not, the holidays are right around the corner! It’s the most wonderful time of the year, but for many, it’s an incredibly busy time, too. With so much to do and remember, do yourself a favor and reserve your parking ahead of time.

Here are your best bets for Boston holiday parking near some of the city’s most popular holiday events:

Quincy Market Annual Tree Lighting

Dates: The tree will be lit on 11/26 and will remain up for the holiday season

Location: West End between Faneuil Hall and Quincy Market

Details: The Quincy Market Annual Tree Lighting kicks off the holiday season and kicks off the  Blink! light and music holiday show. Over 350,000 LED lights light up Boston’s skyline – to the song stylings of the Holiday Pops.

Boston Ballet’s “The Nutcracker”

Boston Pops’ Holiday Pops

Dates: 12/5-12/24

Location: Symphony Hall, 301 Massachusetts Avenue

Details: One of the most popular seasonal traditions, a Holiday Pops performance is filled with holiday music favorites, a traditional Pops sing-along and even a visit from Santa Claus himself!

Boston Common Holiday Tree Lighting

Date: 12/5 at 6 p.m.

Location: 139 Tremont St., Boston Common

Price: Free!

Details: This Christmas tradition 6 p.m. with a ceremony and celebration in Boston Common. At 8 p.m. Boston’s Mayor (with help from Santa Claus) will light the City of Boston’s official Christmas tree and kick off the holiday season! With 25,000 spectators attending annually, consider booking parking early!

First Night First Day

Dates: 12/31 – 1/1

Location: Copley Square, 560 Boylston Street

Price: Free!

Details: For over 40 years, Boston’s First Night has been a New Year’s tradition. It celebrates the holiday season and the beginning of a new year. The event is free and open to all. Entertainment and special attractions will be focused in Copley Square and the Boston Common. On January 1st, Copley Square will be filled with families celebrating the beginning of the year from noon to 4 p.m.

Airport Parking

If you’re catching a flight this holiday season, consider parking near the airport. It’s a smart way to save money on holiday travel without adding a ton of time to your trip. Parking facilities near the airport offer free shuttles to the terminal, too.
